↪ Analyse healthcare systems in developing and emerging countries
↪ Support institutions and governments in developing skills and expertise
↪ Analyse opportunities and challenges for the labour market integration of rural youth in WAEMU countries
↪ Provide governments and their partners with research-based information that supports economically feasible, and socially and politically acceptable, decision-making
FERDI continues its work on the links between health and development in order to improve the efficiency of health systems and inform policy decision-making. These activities are structured around two complementary strands: the production of knowledge to support public policy and capacity building for stakeholders involved in health-related decision-making.
The aim is to contribute to health policies that are economically sustainable, socially acceptable and politically feasible.

FERDI contributes to the Savoirs Eco en Tunisie (2023–2026) project, implemented by Expertise France and funded by the European Union. This project aims to strengthen public debate on economic issues in Tunisia by supporting structures that produce economic knowledge (SPSE).

In WAEMU countries, the delayed demographic transition is leading to the arrival of large cohorts of young people on the labour market. Their integration into the workforce is therefore a major public policy challenge.
As part of its partnership agreement with the WAEMU Commission, FERDI has produced two reports:
This work aims to inform public policies that can foster the sustainable economic integration of young people in WAEMU economies.
As part of a feasibility study conducted for the CEMAC Commission, FERDI has formulated recommendations for the creation of a Community Centre of Excellence (PEC) centred on the Afro-American University of Central Africa (AAUCA).
The study advocates an economic and institutional model to ensure the effective and sustainable management of this institution. Following these recommendations, the CEMAC Commission entrusted FERDI with a further mandate to develop several economic modelling scenarios that can be directly used by the relevant stakeholders.
