Yannick Bouterige, Research Officer at FERDI, will attend the 2026 EITI Global Conference, taking place in Brussels on 8–9 October 2026. Held every three years, the conference brings together international stakeholders working to promote transparent and responsible governance of natural resources.

On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the roundtable “The Challenges of Development Aid” will bring together several speakers to discuss the current challenges facing development aid, with the participation of Matthieu Boussichas, Programme Officer at FERDI.

From 7 to 9 July 2026, the first edition of the West African Digital Transformations Forum brought together researchers, policymakers, private-sector representatives, civil society organisations and development partners in Cotonou, Benin.

FERDI and AFD partnered to organize a two-part webinar series on Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Africa. These discussions explored the role of SEZs in the continent’s economic transformation strategies at a time when regional integration and the reconfiguration of global value chains were becoming increasingly important.

FERDI, in collaboration with the OECD, organized a webinar on 22 June to discuss the implications of declining aid budgets for the allocation of concessional resources by multilateral development banks to poor and vulnerable countries.

On Friday, June 19, the closing ceremony of the Savoirs Éco project took place in Tunisia. Coline Réal, who is in charge of the project at FERDI, attended the event in person to acknowledge the partnership and highlight the results achieved. The gathering marked the end of the project and underscored the quality of the collaboration among the various partners.

As part of the Afro’Fest festival, Alou Adessé DAMA, Research Fellow at the Ferdi, spoke on Friday, June 12, at the conference “Africa(s): Natural Resources, Inequalities and the Colonial Legacy: What Impact on Today’s Economies?”.

On June 10, a conference entitled “Development Economics at a Crossroads” was held in honor of Elisabeth Sadoulet.

The Global Research Network on Public Development Banks, in collaboration with Finance in Common and the French Development Agency, organized the 2026 Conference on Development Bank Research, focused on the theme “Public Banks in a Changing Global Financial Architecture.” The event was held in Clermont-Ferrand in partnership with Ferdi and Cerdi.
