How can development finance be better reconciled with the financing of global public goods? This question lay at the heart of a series of three webinars bringing together researchers, international policymakers and development practitioners. The discussions highlighted six key lessons that will help shape FERDI's future research and contribute to international debates on reforming the global financial architecture.

In Évian, discussions were naturally dominated by the conflict involving Iran, the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, and Russia's war against Ukraine. However, the agenda and the declarations—prepared over many months with considerable care—also addressed major geo-economic issues. These issues were also of direct relevance to poor and vulnerable countries. FERDI contributed to these preparations, and the G7 declarations reflect several positions that we have long advocated, particularly in the run-up to the Évian Summit.

The Africa Forward Summit confirms a profound shift in development paradigms. Productive investment, economic sovereignty, industrial and agricultural transformation, and job creation are now at the heart of the narrative shared by many African and European leaders. But Africa Forward was also a Summit of silences.

As the G7 Development Ministerial Meeting takes place in Paris on 29 and 30 April 2026, one question stands out with renewed urgency: to whom should concessional resources – now scarcer and more in demand than ever – be allocated as a priority?

Elle a été enterrée à Lissieu près de Lyon, après une cérémonie à l’Eglise Saint Martin de Chasselay, en présence de sa nombreuse et magnifique famille, d’amis et anciens élèves admiratifs de sa pensée et de son action.
