The Institute for Advanced Studies in Sustainable Development ( Institut des Hautes Études du Développement Durable-IHEDD in French), is the training institute of the laboratory of excellence (Labex) IDGM+ "Initiative for Development and Global Governance" led by FERDI in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) and the Centre for International Development Studies and Research (UMR, CNRS - UCA). The FERDI where IHEDD is located, is recognized as a "professional training organization". In 2022, it received Qualiopi certification.

The objective of the IHEDD is to respond to current issues on public development policies by using research results, in line with the programmes developed within the framework of the IDGM+ laboratory of excellence.

The IHEDD proposes an Economic Policy Management Masters programme (GPE), short training courses (on line or in classrooms), and tailor-made training courses on demand.

Higher education training courses

IHEDD’s themes bring together in a common project the international experts from North and South, comprising academics, senior officials, and leaders from major international, regional and national organisations working towards sustainable development.

… Based on challenging and suitable teaching

  • at the leading edge of information and new ideas on development policy issues,

  • preparing students to address the issues raised for the successful implementation of technical and managerial innovations,
  • with the help of innovative teaching approaches making appropriate use of distance learning through the dedicated platform of the IHEDD;
  • ensuring that students are followed up over time after the training.

… Dedicated to a diverse audience

The seminars and training courses at the IHEDD respond to a strong demand expressed by a varied audience of actors or analysts in international economic development, who are seeking to deepen their knowledge of public development policies.

… Various training formats

  • short cycles (one to two weeks) leading to the award of the "Certificate of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Development" with a specific mention for each course;
