Events of project 'Analysis of Healthcare Systems in Developing and Emerging Countries'

The meeting aimed to set up two policy-oriented research and decision-support projects in the field of universal health coverage in Togo.

Dans le cadre de l'étude menée par la Ferdi sur l'efficience des hôpitaux de district du Niger, en collaboration avec le ministère de la santé du Niger, sur un financement de l'Agence Française du Développement, l'IHEDD organise avec le ministère de la santé et sous l'égide de la Chaire Sahel de la Ferdi un atelier de restitution des résultats de l'étude et de formation à l'analyse de la problématique de l'efficience dans les structures de soins.

Suite à l’étude de la Ferdi sur les effets du Covid-19 sur l’efficience des hôpitaux de district au Niger (publication à venir), le Ministre de la Santé publique, de la Population et des Affaires sociales, Dr Illiassou Idi Maïnassara, souhaite la mise en place d’un « Observatoire de l’efficience des établissements de santé » sous l’égide de la Ferdi et de la chaire Sahel.

At this conference at the University of Oslo, Jacky Mathonnat (FERDI, UCA) and Marlène Guillon (University of Montpellier) will present three papers from FERDI's applied health economics research program.

Martine Audibert (UCA-CERDI-CNRS and Senior Fellow FERDI) went to Botswana in the framework of the FERDI - University of Botswana Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Botswana.

For nearly 10 years, Ferdi has been collaborating with the University of Botswana to strengthen the health economics skills of physicians training at the School of Public Health who are destined for positions of responsibility in health care facilities or in the administrations of the health system, and who are called upon more generally to contribute to the definition and implementation of health policy.

On Monday, November 11, 2019, in Ouagadougou, was held a ceremony to launch the 2019 session of the Health Economics Training: "Strengthening Health Systems and Policies against Infectious Diseases".

Jacky Mathonnat (Emeritus Professor at the Clermont Auvergne University, Senior Fellow and Head of the Health Economics Program at FERDI) and Marlène Guillon (Associated Professor at the University of Montpellier) presented the results and the health policy implications of their study on the efficiency of district hospitals to the various directorates of the Ministry of Health and Child Care and to the health authorities of the Bindura province.
