In a context where a large number of low - and middle- income countries are lagging behind on the Health SDG and facing severe financial constraints and new challenges, the issue of improving the efficiency of expenditure on healthcare facilities is one of the main focuses of Ferdi's Health Program.
As part of the partnership agreement between FERDI and the Center for Health Development (CHD) in Mongolia, Jacky Mathonnat presented the results of a study on the efficiency of a sample of family health centers (FHCs), the main facilities in charge of providing current health care in Mongolian urban areas. During a workshop and working meetings with representatives of the CHD, the Ministry of Health, the Ulaanbaatar Health Department, FHCs directors and representatives of the Association of Familly Health Centers, the discussions focused mainly on the implications of the study's findings for health policy in the capital.
The main conclusions and potential implications of the study will be incorporated into the request to be submitted to Parliament by the Ministry of Health next January.
