Geopolitical Shifts, Economic and Financial Fragmentation. Volume 2. The Era of Restructuring

Under the co-direction of Bruno Cabrillac, Director General of the Foundation for Studies and Research on International Development (FERDI)  and former Deputy Director General of the Banque de France, and Pierre Jaillet, former Director General for Economics and International Relations at the Banque de France, adviser to the Jacques Delors Institute – Notre Europe, and associate researcher at IRIS,  issue 161 of the Revue d’économie financière is an extension of issue 160 on geopolitical shifts and their geoeconomic consequences.

The first volume (“The Era of Disruption”)  analyzed the geoeconomic consequences of a systemic “polycrisis”, which has revealed the tensions arising from a phase of rapid globalization coupled with economic disruption.

This volume 161 (“The Era of Restructuring”) examines the geoeconomic prospects of the new state of the world.

FERDI was closely involved in both issues, which were co-edited by its Director General, Bruno Cabrillac, who also co-authored the introductions to the two volumes.

In the first issue, Matthieu Boussichas co-authored an article with Bruno Cabrillac entitled “Is Africa a Victim or Beneficiary of Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Tensions?”. Martial Foucault, a member of the new Chair in Strategic Resource Governance, also contributed a remarkable article entitled “Weaponized Interdependence: The Return of Economic Geostrategy”.

In this second issue, Pascal Saint-Amans, Senior Fellow at FERDI, examined the state of “international taxation: what still holds in a fragmented world”, a topic he also presented at a Montyon seminar of the International Development Cluster (PCDI) “What are the benefits of international tax reform for countries in the Global South?” . Bruno Cabrillac co-authored, with Pierre Jaillet, a contribution entitled “Financial Institutions and International Economic Forums, Faced with the Crisis of Multilateralism”.
