Before joining FERDI, he held senior positions at the Banque de France, where he served as Deputy Director General of Studies, Statistics, and International Relations (2016-2024). Prior to that, he was Director of Studies and International and European Relations (2008-2016). In these roles, he contributed to shaping monetary policy, overseeing statistical production, and coordinating international relations, with significant involvement in global forums such as the G7, G20, and international financial institutions. He also served as a board member for the Banque des États d'Afrique Centrale (BEAC) and the Banque Centrale des Comores, and held various governance roles in African financial institutions.
Bruno Cabrillac previously worked at the French Treasury as Financial Adviser for Africa (2005-2008) and as Economic and Commercial Adviser for Hong Kong and Macao (2001-2005), as well as in Tokyo and Cairo.
He is the author of several books, including L'économie du Moyen-Orient (PUF, 1994) and L'économie de la Chine (PUF, 2023), along with numerous academic articles. Over the years, he has taught at various institutions such as the University of Clermont-Ferrand, IEP Paris, and Montpellier Business School.
