Présentation des projets financés par le Centre International de Recherche 4 "Catastrophes naturelles et développement durable".

La cérémonie d’ouverture du séminaire, ouverte à de hautes personnalités, a réuni des experts académiques sur la question, des hauts représentants des administrations des pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest ainsi que des partenaires bilatéraux et multilatéraux du développement.

Anne-Marie Geourjon (FERDI), Émilie Caldeira (University of Clermont Auvergne, CNRS, CERDI) & Bertrand Laporte (University of Clermont Auvergne, CNRS, IRD, CERDI) presented the study which aimed to assess the fiscal and economic impact of the full implementation of the ECOWAS Common External Tariff (CET) as of January 1, 2023, and to propose guidelines to improve revenue mobilization and fiscal transition.

This seminar presented the results of an impact study of development projects in the area.

Fayçal Sawadogo (Research Assistant, Ferdi and PhD student, Cerdi-Université Clermont Auvergne), discussed on the effects of tax incentives on firms in developing countries.

Christophe Angely, Special Adviser for FERDI, took part in the round table discussion on "A city for all".

Roundtable organized by the Center for Global Development (CGD) and the Foundation for studies and Research on International Development (Ferdi), on the allocation of recycled SDRs.

As part of the GDN annual conference, FERDI organised on Monday 25 October, a panel on "Remote sensing to assess what works in contexts of fragility, conflict or violence".

This year, the topics were: Agriculture, economy, entrepreneurship, climate, and new technologies. With the participation of Patrick Guillaumont (opening remarks), Jean-Marc Gravellini (moderator of the round tables on agriculture), Jean-Michel Severino (intervention in the session "African entrepreneurship: A key player in Africa's economic takeoff."

From 11 to 13 October in Clermont Ferrand, FERDI-IHEDD met with the representatives of the tax and customs administrations of Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Togo and Mauritania. The objective was to design with the beneficiary countries the framework for training courses on data science in tax and customs administrations.

Ferdi contributed to this preparatory event for the 5th UN Conference on LDCs (LDC5) with the participation of Patrick Guillaumont (opening remarks: The rationale of the least developed countries category over half a century), Alassane Drabo (LDCs graduation and structural transformation: Are improvements in LDC's structural handicaps a step towards structural transformation?) and Jaime de Melo (The Trade Facilitation Agreement: estimates of reduction in time at customs for the United Nations' vulnerable economies).

Webinaire organisé par la Fondation La Verticale AME (Afrique-Méditerranée-Europe) avec la participation de personnalités de haut niveau dont Patrick Plane, directeur de recherche au CNRS, professeur associé à l'Université Clermont Auvergne et responsable de programme à la Ferdi.

Patrick Guillaumont, président de la Ferdi et Sylviane Guillaumont Jeanneney, conseiller scientifique à la Ferdi ont été invités par l'Université de Lorraine à intervenir lors de la Cérémonie de dédicace de l’ouvrage «Finance, Banque, Microfinance : Où Va la Richesse Créée?», paru aux éditions Larcier et coordonné par le Professeur Chicot Eboue (Cerefige).

On Thursday, September 9, 2021, the Agence Française de Développement Campus, the University of Clermont Auvergne, and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Sustainable Development - led by the Foundation for Studies and Research on International Development, welcomed the 2020-2021 MODEV - the Master's degree in Project Management for Development.
