Within the framework of their convention, FERDI and the International University of Côte d'Ivoire (UICI) launched the "Policies for Development" conference series in collaboration with the CIRES Economic Policy Analysis Unit. The first event will focus on the subject "How to deal with sharp price increases?"

On 15 June 2022 in Ouagadougou, the Sahel Chair presented to the main technical and financial partners working in the Sahel, the results of the Chair's activities and its new programme for the coming years.

The Sahel Chair organised a methodological seminar so that the Sahelian administrations could define in detail and in a concerted manner the elements to be considered by this infocentre and its implementation.

More than 85 participants took part in the work representing the members of CREDAF as well as its partners: ATAF, ATI, CIAT, Expertise France, FERDI, FMI, MEAE, Mines Paris tech, OECD.

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) and FERDI - Institute for Advanced Studies in Sustainable Development (IHEDD) have signed a partnership agreement for the implementation of several training sessions on the climate issue with the support of AFD Campus.

The annual Africa News forum was organised for the second time in Montpellier by the Fondation Prospective et Innovation, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, the City of Montpellier and FERDI. FERDI, represented by Jean-Michel Severino, Jean-Marc Gravellini, Paul Derreumaux and Bruno Cabrillac, led several sessions. The auditors from the GPE 2021-2022 class participated in the event.

Ce séminaire est organisé dans le cadre du projet DATAFID dont l'objet vise à améliorer la connaissance de l’économie numérique et de ses impacts et à renforcer les capacités des administrations fiscales et douanières à travers un meilleur usage de la science des données.

Organised in the framework of the partnership between the CEMAC Commission and FERDI, this conference brought together academics, scientists, public and private decision-makers and aimed to continue the reflection on regional integration in Central Africa and to support African academic research on this subject.

Du 26 au 28 avril 2022, une session de formation sur la modélisation fiscale des projets du secteur extractif a été organisée pour les membres du Comité National (CN) de l'Initiative pour la Transparence dans les Industries Extractives (ITIE) du Sénégal, en partenariat avec le Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI). Yannick Bouterige (Ferdi) y a présenté une analyse du droit fiscal et du partage de rente du Sénégal.

Session: Covid-19 crisis and digital divide in the French-speaking area: Strengthening inclusion and digital sovereignty for greater resilience

Atelier organisé par la Commission de la CEMAC en présence du Commissaire en charge du département de l’éducation, de la recherche et du développement social, chargé des droits de l’homme et de la bonne gouvernance, M. Edjang Ntutumu Avomo, et coordonné par le directeur de l’enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de la formation professionnelle de la Commission, M. Doukpolo. Lors de cet atelier, Vianney Dequiedt, directeur scientifique de la Ferdi a restitué l’étude de faisabilité conduite par la Ferdi.

On 17 March 2022, the President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, launched the work of the High-Level Panel on the development of a Multidimensional Vulnerability Index (MVI) to be submitted by the end of the year.

Martine Audibert (UCA-CERDI-CNRS and Senior Fellow FERDI) went to Botswana in the framework of the FERDI - University of Botswana Program in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Botswana.
