October 16, 2025 > October 18, 2025, Tunis, Tunisie
From October 16 to 18, 2025, the Media Support Program in Tunisia (PAMT2) and FERDI organized in Tunis the first activity of the SAWT (صوت) pathway, aimed at bridging the gap between the worlds of research and media.
This activity is part of the mentoring program implemented by FERDI within the Savoirs Éco initiative, which supports economic knowledge-producing structures (SPSE) in the production and dissemination of policy briefs on economic and sustainable development issues in Tunisia.
Four representatives from SPSE and twelve journalists were brought together to collaboratively develop a communication strategy around policy briefs, focusing specifically on:
- Defining the editorial positioning of SPSE
- Identifying target audiences likely to be receptive and interested in their policy briefs
- Creating content tailored to these audiences, with support from artificial intelligence
These rich and constructive exchanges enabled:
- Facilitating connections and collaboration between two complementary worlds: research and media;
- Strengthening the communication capacities of SPSE in scientific communication, despite limited resources for disseminating their work;
- Helping translate research findings into impactful and accessible messages by identifying concrete and relevant editorial angles;
- Offering journalists the opportunity to better understand the methods and issues addressed by SPSE, and to develop new editorial formats to popularize research.
