Global Development Network (GDN) International Conference. FERDI Session on Designing Vulnerability and Resilience Profiles

November 27, 2024, Suva

The 2024 edition of the GDN International Conference titled "Global Synergies: Climate Resilience Strategies for a Sustainable Tomorrow" will feature a workshop organized by FERDI.

This workshop will discuss the development of country vulnerability and resilience profiles, as well as essential tools to enhance climate resilience strategies. Sosso Feindouno, a research officer at FERDI and an expert on countries vulnerabilities, will co-facilitate in the workshop.

Date: November 27, 2024 (time to be announced)

Concept note

The workshop will focus on designing country vulnerability and resilience profiles and key tools for strengthening climate resilience strategies. Vulnerability profiles, first recommended by the UN in 2000 and used in countries like Cape Verde, the Maldives, and Vanuatu, offer a more detailed, tailored assessment by integrating economic, social, and environmental factors. These profiles help decision-makers prioritise interventions and allocate resources efficiently, maximising the impact of resilience efforts. The workshop will discuss methodologies for developing these profiles to guide climate resilience strategies.
