Webinar : "Digitising African agricultural sectors : from data to value"

In 2026, AgroSfer is organising a webinar on the digitalisation of agricultural sectors in Africa, focusing on issues related to the strategic use and exploitation of data within value chains. This seminar aims to stimulate discussion on the conditions under which digital tools can effectively contribute to the management of agricultural sectors and decision-making.

In this context, Joël Cariolle will speak at the event to share his analysis of the strategic role of data in the governance of agricultural sectors, as well as the links between operational data and scientific research.

His work combines macroeconomic and microeconomic approaches to analyse digitisation processes in developing countries, with a particular focus on Africa.

He is co-author, with J. Aker, of the book "Mobile Phones and Development in Africa : Does the Evidence Meet the Hype ?".
