The Montyon seminars

The Montyon seminars or conferences, organised by the partners of the Clermont-Ferrand International Development Cluster (PCDI), are joint events dedicated to discussion on current development policy issues.

The name “Montyon” refers to the renowned economist, tax specialist and demographer Jean-Baptiste de Montyon, former Intendant of Auvergne.

Open to researchers based in Clermont-Ferrand, these seminars are built around the presentation of work in progress conducted within one of the cluster’s institutions and of common interest, or are organised as part of a visit by a distinguished guest. The seminars are mainly held in person and may, where appropriate, be organised in a hybrid format in order to involve partners from the Global South.

These seminars are intended to be held regularly throughout the year.
