The Clermont International Development Hub (PCDI) is launching its Montyon seminar series, a new monthly forum to explore current issues in development policy.
For this first session, Jean-Louis Arcand, President of the Global Development Network, will present his work on the use of satellite data to map destruction and estimate its economic impact, using the Gaza Strip between October 2023 and October 2024 as a case study.
📅 Monday, 19 January 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (CET)
📍 Hybrid event – in person in Clermont-Ferrand
⚠️ Limited to 50 in-person participants

The Montyon seminars or conferences, organised by the partners of the Clermont-Ferrand International Development Cluster (PCDI), are joint events dedicated to discussion on current development policy issues.
The name “Montyon” refers to the renowned economist, tax specialist and demographer Jean-Baptiste de Montyon, former Intendant of Auvergne.
Open to researchers based in Clermont-Ferrand, these seminars are built around the presentation of work in progress conducted within one of the cluster’s institutions and of common interest, or are organised as part of a visit by a distinguished guest. The seminars are mainly held in person and may, where appropriate, be organised in a hybrid format in order to involve partners from the Global South.
These seminars are intended to be held regularly throughout the year.
