« The Paris Agreement: Finding New Financial Solutions to Reduce Carbon Emissions»
Tuesday June 14, 16:30-18:00 Hôtel Bonaventure- Room Mont-Royal
In addition to the clear and universal political will and the technological challenges involved in reducing CO2 emissions in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement targets, funding for climate action and shifting investments toward carbon reduction projects that will usher in new production and consumption patterns are also key factors. Given the different needs and resources of the various categories of countries and regions, what funding and investments are needed to ensure the transition to a world with greatly reduced greenhouse gas emissions? What sources, financial instruments and incentives are needed to generate the necessary funding and allocate it appropriately? What are the particular challenges faced by developing countries and what are the most appropriate ways of dealing with them?
