From 4 to 8 December 2023, the e-week, the digital week, took place in Geneva and was organized by UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development). The e-week focused on urgent challenges related to digitisation to ensure that the digital transformation leads to shared progress and sustainable growth. It provided a framework for exchanges where global experts discussed digital issues.
To commemorate the occasion, the OIF organised three sessions on the digital economy, with the goal of emphasising the priorities of French-speaking countries.
Joel Cariolle participated in the session titled "Towards a digital vulnerability index". He presented a concept note on the interest, scope and structure of a digital vulnerability index, a tool that could be used to refine public policies in the digital sector. He benefited from enriching exchanges with experts from other disciplines on the relevance and calculation methods of this index.
The next two sessions dealt with "Strengthening people's digital skills, particularly on the African continent" and "The discoverability of French-language content as an instrument of cultural diversity"
