Call for papers for the 2026 research conference on development banking

In the perspective of its 2026 Research Conference, the Global Research Network on Public Development Banks invites submission of papers addressing its main areas of research: economic theory and public banks; global financial architecture; sustainable and solidarity investments; private sector mobilization.

THE 2026 RESEARCH CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT BANKING

The Global Research Network on Public Development Banks, together with Finance in Common and Agence Française de Développement, are pleased to announce the organization of the 2026 “Development Banking Research Conference: Public banks in a changing global financial architecture”. The event will take place on May 20th-22nd, 2026 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Held in partnership with the FERDI and the CERDI, the conference will bring together researchers, academics, think tanks, and practitioners to debate the role of public development banks, in line with the conclusions of the Sevilla Commitment.

THE CALL FOR PAPERS

Submitted papers should address the following topics, but are not limited to: economic theory and public banks; global financial architecture; sustainable and solidarity investments; private sector mobilization. Detailed topics can be found directly on the platform.

Special consideration will be given to papers that foster policy dialogue and can be translated into concrete policy recommendations, particularly in emerging markets and developing economies.

HOW TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL?

Extended abstracts only will be accepted for review according to the following model:

  1. Description of the research question (10 lines max.)
  2. Contemplated methodology (10 lines max.)
  3. Contemplated policy recommendations (10 lines max.)

The proposals must be in English

Proposals should be submitted by Friday, January 23rd 2026 via the conference website: https://grn-2026.sciencesconf.org
