AFR-PsyPol Study Day

Political psychology is an interdisciplinary field at the intersection of psychology, political science, sociology, and economics. In the face of the profound social, ecological, and technological transformations reshaping our societies, the field is increasingly called upon to reconsider its objects of study, approaches, and analytical frameworks.

It was from this perspective that the Association Francophone pour la Recherche en Psychologie Politique (AFR-PsyPol) organized an online study day dedicated to the links between political psychology and new technologies, under the guiding question: “What challenges for democracy?”

The event brought together researchers and practitioners to explore the transformations brought about by digital technologies in forms of civic engagement and collective mobilization, as well as in the production and circulation of political information. It also provided an opportunity to examine the psychosocial mechanisms underlying the spread of disinformation and the strategies that can be developed to address it, while fostering dialogue across disciplines and perspectives.
