The 2026 EITI Global Conference will bring together more than 1,000 stakeholders from governments, the private sector, civil society and development partners under the theme “Transparency for Shared Prosperity”. Over two days, leaders, policymakers and practitioners from more than 50 countries will share experiences, showcase innovative initiatives and strengthen collaboration to advance more responsible and transparent governance of natural resources.
Across the world, growing geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty and the rapid spread of disinformation are profoundly reshaping the governance of natural resources and the pathways to energy transition. In this context, transparency is essential to building trust and ensuring that the benefits derived from resource extraction, as well as those arising from the energy transition, are shared across society.
Under the theme “Transparency for Shared Prosperity”, the 2026 EITI Global Conference will explore how open, accountable governance, underpinned by reliable data, can strengthen trust, support responsible investment and enable informed decision-making. It will also highlight how EITI implementation helps countries move beyond the simple disclosure of information by turning data into a practical tool for policymaking, stakeholder dialogue and more effective management of natural resources.
The overarching objective is to make transparency a genuine instrument of governance, helping to maximise the long-term economic and social benefits of natural resources for citizens.
