    Biographie

    Sylvie Lemmet, Former Ambassador for the Environment - Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

    A graduate of HEC and the Paris Institute of Political Studies, and holding a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, Sylvie Lemmet began her career in the private sector before serving as Chief Financial Officer for Médecins Sans Frontières and at the World Bank. She joined the French civil service as an Auditor at the Court of Auditors in April 2001 upon graduating from ENA (the “Nelson Mandela” class), and was promoted to Senior Auditor in 2004 and Principal Auditor in 2017.

    From January 2007 to October 2013, she was seconded as Director of the Technology, Industry, and Economy Division at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), before serving as Director of European and International Affairs at the Ministry of the Environment, Energy, and the Sea until February 2017, when she returned to the Court of Auditors.

    A member of the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) and its select committee from February 2019 to January 2021, she was appointed Deputy Secretary-General of France Relance in October 2020 and Deputy Ambassador for the Environment in August 2021. She also served on the Climate and Sustainable Finance Commission of the Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) in October 2019.

    She is currently a Senior Fellow and member of the Ferdi Chair in International Development Finance Architecture.
