Pierre JACQUET

Pierre Jacquet is a graduate of the École nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and Professor of International Economics at the École nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC). He is also a Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Studies and Research on International Development (FERDI), a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development, a member of the Cercle des Économistes and of Crédit Agricole’s Scientific Advisory Board, and a trustee of the Fyssen Foundation.

He served as President of the Global Development Network (GDN) from 2012 to 2022. He was Chief Economist at the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) from 2002 to 2012 and Director of Strategy from 2002 to 2010, and previously served as Deputy Director of the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri). Until 2012, he chaired the Department of Economics, Management and Finance at ENPC. He was an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the École Polytechnique from 1990 to 2002 and taught at several schools and universities, including INSEAD, CEDEP, Sciences Po, the Paris School of Economics and the École nationale d’Administration (ENA). From 1997 to 2006, he was a member of the Economic Analysis Council established by the French Prime Minister. He is also a former President of the Scientific Council of the Foundation for Agriculture and Rural Development Worldwide (FARM).

His main areas of interest include international relations, international economics, economic policy, development and global public goods. He has published more than 100 articles and book chapters, as well as over 200 editorials. He is co-author of the textbook Politique Economique (De Boeck, 6th edition, 2026), published in English by Oxford University Press as Economic Policy: Theory and Practice (2010, 2019).
