    Justin Yifu Lin, former Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of the World Bank, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics (INSE)

    Justin Yifu Lin is Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics (INSE), Dean of the Institute for South-South Cooperation and Development, and Professor and Dean Emeritus at the National School of Development at Peking University. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as the founding director and professor of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

    Mr Lin is the author of more than 20 books, including Justin Yifu Lin on China’s Economy, Beating the Odds: Jump-starting Developing Countries, Going Beyond Aid: Development Cooperation for Structural Transformation, The Quest for Prosperity: How Developing Economies Can Take Off, New Structural Economics: A Framework for Rethinking Development and Policy, Against the Consensus: Reflections on the Great Recession, and Demystifying the Chinese Economy. He is a corresponding fellow of the British Academy and a member of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World.
