Programme

3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Presentation of The African Economy 2026 by Thomas Mélonio to students at the Tertiary Sector Centre, followed by a discussion with the audience.

5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Discussion with representatives and researchers from the  Clermont International Development Hub (PCDI) — including CERDI, the School of Economics, FERDI, and the Global Development Network (GDN) — focusing on:

  •  Challenges related to France’s G7 presidency 
  •  Digital technologies 
  •  The international architecture of development finance 
  •  Domestic resource mobilisation
Clermont International Development Hub (PCDI)

The Clermont International Development Hub (PCDI) brings together three partners based in Clermont-Ferrand: the University of Clermont Auvergne, represented by its School of Economics and the Centre for Studies and Research on International Development (Cerdi); the Foundation for Studies and Research on International Development (Ferdi); and the Global Development Network (GDN). Together, they work to foster synergies between research, responses to global challenges, and policymaking.

Their shared goal is to ensure that research findings effectively inform development policies in countries of the Global South, the Global North, and at the international level.
