On Thursday, April 3, Matthieu Boussichas participated in a roundtable discussion on monitoring the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) with his presentation titled 'To what extent do donors take into account the structural characteristics of LDCs when allocating their resources?'.
The main objective of the third Forum on the Future of LDCs was to bring together policymakers, researchers, the private sector, and other stakeholders to share concrete innovative solutions and practical policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the resilience of LDCs. This could help LDCs manage and adapt to current and future systemic shocks. The focus on gender equality and the participation of women and girls in these discussions was essential in developing holistic and inclusive solutions.
This forum aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, private sector leaders, and other stakeholders to share innovative solutions and practical policy recommendations to strengthen the resilience of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) against systemic shocks (economic recessions, natural disasters, and health emergencies).
This session, building on the 2023 LDC5 Monitor and the 2024 Helsinki Forum, examined strategies to enhance the monitoring of the Doha Programme of Action at all levels. It brought together experts and stakeholders to improve coordinated implementation, strengthen accountability, and mobilize international support to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in LDCs, while ensuring alignment with other global processes
