On 6 November 2009 the Initiative for Development and Global Governance (IDGM), backed by the Iddri and the Ferdi, was officially launched at the Maison de l'Amérique latine in Paris with a special conference.
Bringing together 15 high-level (UN, FAO, IICT, the French MAE, DGTPE and AFD, Oxford, WWF, etc.) contributors from 10 different countries, along with 80 participants, the conference addressed the theme ‘The bottom billion and climate change in the context of the global crisis’. The day’s proceedings allowed an in-depth exploration of two major questions: ‘Beyond the crisis, what are the issues?’ and ‘Who does what faced with the diversity of objectives?’
