Further Study and Strengthen the Smooth Transition Process

March 26, 2012, New-York

The third substantive meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group.

The President of Ferdi, professor Guillaumont, participated to this meeting as key speaker.

The objective of the third substantive meeting of the ad-hoc working group is to discuss the preparation and implementation of transition strategies for graduating and graduated countries, including the consultative mechanism foreseen in resolution 59/209. The meeting aims to identify gaps and consider LDC’s concerns related to the process of smooth transition. It is an open and free-flowing exchange of views on what possible approaches could be developed to further support countries in this process.

The President of Ferdi, professor Guillaumont, participated to this meeting as key speaker in order to provide the UN Members States with clearer understanding of what is at stake for graduating countries as they develop their smooth transition strategies.
