First Expert Group Workshop on Trade, Finance and Development

April 13, 2015 > April 14, 2015, Geneva

Patrick Guillaumont, President of Ferdi, and Jaime de Melo, Scientific Advisor at the Ferdi, participated in this workshop led by Jean-Louis Arcand.

The E15 Expert Group on Trade, Finance and Development will meet for the first time on 13-14 April 2015 in Geneva. The objective of this group is to examine how trade and finance could be leveraged for sustainable development in poor economies. This requires looking beyond traditional thinking with a consideration of country-and-sector-specific dynamics. The group will propose long-term and innovative policy options for key development actors and the international community.

The group, led by Jean-Louis Arcand of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva), was made of distinguished development, investment, and trade law and policy experts from academia, international organisations, and business. For this first meeting, the group has discussed the scope and potential topics surrounding trade, finance, development, and investment policy that the experts should consider.

Patrick Guillaumont, President of the Ferdi and Jaime de Melo, Scientific Advisor at the Ferdi, participated at this worshop.
