The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF), in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union Commission, organised the 11th African Think Tanks Summit under the theme “From Taxation to Action: Bridging Policy and Implementation in Public Financial Management (PFM) in Africa.”
The event took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 8 to 10 October 2025.
Audrey-Anne de Ubeda, Head of Research Programme Coordination at FERDI, took part in the roundtable discussion “Africa-Europe Think Tank Ideas Bank: From Vision to Implementation of Africa-Europe Initiatives,” co-organised by the Africa-Europe Foundation and the ACBF.
In the lead-up to the 7th AU-EU Summit to be held in Luanda, Angola, where African Union and European Union leaders will meet, and at a pivotal moment for Africa-Europe cooperation, the session provided an opportunity to discuss the role of think tanks in shaping public policy and to identify concrete ways to strengthen sustainable collaborations between African and European think tanks.
The panellists presented research findings and practical initiatives designed to inform and enrich high-level discussions.
