Biographie

Camille Laville is a researcher at the Chair of Defense Economics of IHEDN and a research associate at CERDI. She is specialized in conflict and defense economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from CERDI and was an associate PhD at IRSEM.

Her work focuses on development economics, with a particular interest in the economics of failed states and conflict-affected areas. She also works on various subjects related to the international trade in conventional arms.

She is currently involved in a multidisciplinary ANR project (PolisInWar) on the budgeting of French external military operation, and on a meta-analysis of the sub-national economic causes of conflict in developing countries.  

Camille Laville is also the treasurer of AEGES, which is an association that aims to promote the development and recognition of scientific studies on war, armed conflict, defense issues, etc. Her research interests include development economics, political economy, conflict economics and defense economics.
