She works with researchers in more than 20 countries to develop transition pathways towards more sustainable food and land-use systems. In 2018, she developed the FABLE Calculator, an open-source Excel-based simulation model, for which several country-specific versions now exist.
Before joining the SDSN, Aline worked at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria, where she contributed to the development of the global partial-equilibrium model GLOBIOM, with a particular focus on international trade and the deforestation and degradation of tropical forests.
Aline holds a PhD in agricultural and environmental economics from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), and a Master’s degree in development economics from CERDI–Université Clermont Auvergne.
