International conference on The Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) in the Indian Ocean

Jaime de Melo (FERDI, University of Geneva) was a keynote speaker on preferential trade agreements in the frame of SDGs.

The Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Reunion Island held an International Conference on the new EU’s trade policy with ACP countries in Saint Denis de la Réunion, from 27-28 September 2018.

Organized by the Center for Economics and Management of the Indian Ocean (CEMOI) with the support of the Observatory of Indian Ocean Societies (OSOI) and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the overall theme was : « The Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) in the Indian Ocean ». The theme is significant and timely from both the research and policy perspectives.

Keynote speaker

Jaime de Melo, Scientific Director at the FERDI and Emeritus Professor at the University of Geneva was a keynote speaker. He presented a communication on preferential trade agreements in the frame of SDGs.
