From 11 to 13 October, FERDI-IHEDD is organising a meeting in Clermont Ferrand with the representatives of the tax and customs administrations of Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Togo and Mauritania. The objective is to build with the beneficiary countries the frame of the modules of the first two training courses, which are "The identification and evaluation of tax expenditures" and "The use of the R software for tax and customs data science".
As a result of these exchanges, several distance learning courses will be offered to African tax and customs administrations. The objectives of the training are:
- To support the IT strategy of the administrations' senior managers
- To raise awareness among middle managers of customs and tax administrations of the use of data for better mobilisation of domestic revenues and border management
- To develop the experts’ data analysis capacities
This meeting is organised within the framework of the regional project to support the strengthening of digital economy statistics and the use of data science by tax and customs administrations (DATAFID) implemented by Expertise France. The DATAFID project involves several partners including FERDI through the Institut des Hautes Etudes du Développement Durable mandated to create a complete and adapted range of training courses.
